The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall

Opened in 1856 as the Library’s original reading room, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall is one of Melbourne’s most breathtaking historical venues. Featuring a newly renovated 19th-century interior evoking the splendour of ‘Marvellous Melbourne’, it is an unforgettable venue for your wedding reception, end-of-year celebration, musical soiree or theatrical performance.

By day, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall functions as a tranquil reading room, with refurbished 1860s decor and restored skylights. By night, the imposing double-height room lined with gilded arcades transforms into an opulent venue for special events.
