Nas & Christian’s Classically Intimate Wedding – Showtime Events Group recap
Unpredictable Melbourne weather decided it would keep us guessing on Saturday February 9th with grey clouds intermittently broken up with warm sunlight and blue sky. Certainly one way to keep with tradition.
The classic Isabella Fraser Room within the State Library was set for Nas and Christian’s wedding ceremony. Decorated with gold Tiffany chairs, vibrant green foliage and a red carpet created a fresh atmosphere in the bright room while the afternoon sun came through the large windows illuminating the parquetry floors.

The ceremony was quintessentially modern class, simple and elegant. With acoustic vocals from the brilliant Brendan and Sabrina. After a few brief words from celebrant Charis White and a few cheeky laughs, Nas and Christian were married.
A group photo followed, before guests walked across the road to the Former City Watch House to enjoy an antipasto station and pre-dinner drinks. Allowing the Isabella Fraser Room to be transformed into the seated reception venue for the remainder of the night. While also giving Nas and Christian the opportunity to go on a private after-hours photo tour of the library’s beautiful spaces,so they could capture some of the most iconic photos of their day.
Upon returning, guests were greeted with a selection of drinks on arrival and sat at their table.

Before long, Nas and Christian returned, for the first time as a beautiful married couple. Walking through the room as the curtain pulled back, to the sound of thunderous applause, and their fist dance.
Once settled and seated, guests were given their entrees;
Wagyu beef bresaola with celeriac remoulade, caper berries, radish wafers, wild rocket, parmesan custard and Vino Cotto as well as one of our popular classics, Twice-cooked braised pork belly with apple wood smoked pumpkin puree, Shaoxing wine jus, Szechuan spices & crackling crumbs.

Mains soon followed with our Pandan leaf wrapped baked Barramundi fillet with tempered potato & beans, turmeric coconut cream sauce and wild black fennel seeds. Alternated with Aleppo pepper marinated free-range chicken breast, lemon thyme jus on baked Spanish onion and gremolata potatoes.

And finally in the midst of the party, desserts went out with our Fruit vs Nuts of seasonal macerated berries, mandarin pudding, pistachio chips, shaved macadamia and burnt meringue. As well as the decadent white chocolate Crémeux with signature dark chocolate mousse, walnut brownie, raspberry drops, gold dust and chocolate fairy floss.
The evening went off without a hitch, an exciting time for us at Showtime Event Group and the Library, as the first wedding reception ever in the Isabella Fraser Room. Thank you to Nas & Christian for picking us and we wish you all the best in love and life!
