Not Your Usual Client Drinks

Wednesday 5th of February saw guests of Showtime Event Group arrive at the steps of the State Library Victoria. Greeted for a relaxed evening of drinks, entertainment and an introduction to Melbourne’s newest event spaces.

Beginning in the Conversation Quarter, the room with ‘three centuries of architecture”. Greeted with canapes, including our Chilli and Garlic Prawn Pops, as well as our grapefruit gin fizz to get the taste buds excited.

As the Showtime Event Group team made their way around the room, attendee’s attention was drawn to the big screen for a showing of the new State Library ‘Events Hub’ teaser. Ending to a raucous round of applause.

MC of the night Brihony Dawson introduced the team and welcomed everyone to an evening of good food, drinks, discussion and dancing;

“In 2019 they held 1,634 events, catering for over 270,769 guests

For the past two years, Showtime Events Centre has won the ABIA award for the Best Wedding Reception Venue in Australia

For the past two years, the State Library has won the MEA award for the best event venue without accommodation in Australia

And they are just getting started. . .

Then, the night then really began as guests made their way up the famous marble staircase to The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall. As the afternoon sun shined through the skylights of the grand reading room, guests filtered their way through the doors, handed espresso martinis and greeted by the sounds of cellist Lily Thornton. Guests continued, up past the pillars of the room, towards the Ceviche Remix station and interactive dessert installation on either end of the long space.

It did not take long however for the party to start in true SEG fashion with the introduction of some classic J-Lo and a dance circle where inhibition was left behind and corporate guests, industry suppliers and the team strutted their stuff under the brilliant lead of Brihony on stage.
